3. Dating preferences and special-category information

Information about gender and who you are interested in dating may reveal or allow inferences about sexual orientation. UK data-protection law can treat sexual-orientation information as special-category personal data.

Where special-category processing requires it, SwiftDating relies on your explicit consent in addition to an applicable Article 6 lawful basis. You can withdraw consent, although doing so may mean we can no longer provide matching features that depend on that information.

Please avoid putting sensitive personal information in your profile or messages unless you are comfortable sharing it with the intended recipient.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run SwiftDating, including hosting and database providers, security/CDN providers such as Cloudflare, and transactional email providers such as SMTP2GO.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect users or the service, or to report content or conduct where a legal reporting duty applies.

Other members can see information you choose to make part of your dating profile. Messages are intended for the members participating in that conversation, subject to moderation, safety and legal access where applicable.

6. International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism or another lawful basis for the transfer.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the service, protect users, resolve disputes, maintain security and comply with legal obligations.

When you permanently delete your SwiftDating account, the service is designed to delete the member account and associated profile, photo records, matches, messages and other account-linked data. Some limited security, audit, backup, legal or regulatory records may remain for a further period where retention is necessary and lawful.

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access your personal information, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to certain processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise a right, contact [email protected] . We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Complaints about privacy

Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.

Information about the ICO is available at ico.org.uk.

10. Automated matching and recommendations

SwiftDating uses information such as your discovery preferences, gender, who you are looking for, location information and previous profile actions to decide which eligible profiles to show you. This is used to organise discovery and matching features.

We do not intend this matching process to make a solely automated decision that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects about you.

We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including secure password hashing, secure sessions, rate limiting, restricted administration access, HTTPS, moderation controls and security logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this notice

We review this notice when our service, data use, suppliers or legal responsibilities change. Material changes will be brought to users' attention where required.
